Will Uber or Lyft be available?
Because Lake Martin is a more rural destination, rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are extremely limited and should not be relied upon for wedding transportation. We encourage guests to plan transportation in advance, designate a driver, or research local private drivers.
How far are the wedding events from my accommodations?
Lake Martin is expansive, and two locations that appear close on a map may take considerably longer to reach by car. When booking accommodations, we strongly recommend checking the actual driving time to the wedding venues rather than relying solely on mileage.
Can I drive to the wedding? Is parking available?
Yes. Complimentary/on-site parking will be available for guests who choose to drive to either the ceremony or reception.
Should we stay on a particular side of Lake Martin?
Yes! Because of the size of the lake, location matters. We recommend selecting accommodations near Willow Point / Alexander City / Kowaliga whenever possible to keep travel time to the weekend's events convenient.
Is there anything else we should know about Lake Martin?
Lake Martin is a beautiful destination, but it is more rural than a traditional resort town. We recommend planning ahead for transportation, groceries, dining reservations, and other necessities—particularly if you're staying in a private lake home. Once you're settled in, slow down, enjoy the view, and make yourself at home at the lake!
